«In general – observed Zoppas, referring to the accession process of the Balkans to the EU – to be able to enter the European Union, these countries must adapt to all the production standards that exist in Europe and make use of fundamental technologies, where we are leaders.

So they turn to us both to purchase technologies and training, they take advantage of our research and development. It is a great opportunity for our entrepreneurs who are able not so much to transfer know-how but to sell those machinery and systems to all productions, especially today that sustainability is an important and sought-after concept».

Also during the Italy-Serbia business forum, the Minister for the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin spoke on a very thorny topic, considering the developments of the Russia-Ukraine war. the gas that Italy uses comes from Russia.

«We no longer have difficulty closing Tarvisio’s relationship with Russian gas. Now the share of Russian gas arriving in Italy is very minimal and is no longer essential for our country – states Minister Pichetto – We have managed to diversify suppliers. We certainly still have many steps to take, but on the safety front we can say we are quite calm. There is never complete tranquility: the geopolitical framework of the Mediterranean area is affected by negative factors», referring to Gaza, the Red Sea, Ukraine.
