Slow return to normality in Valsamoggia after last Monday’s storm. Thanks to the work of volunteers from the Valsamoggia Civil Protection, yesterday morning the underpass which, at the gates of Bazzano, leads onto the Pedemontana axis and which had been completely flooded and closed following the rains, was reopened. Around 1pm, again in Bazzano, the transit of the first complete train run on the Bologna-Vignola route was recorded for the regional train which left at 12.18pm from Bologna central station. The interruption of the route between Vignola and Crespellano thus lasted almost two days with the activation of replacement buses. Since Tuesday morning, Fer technicians have been working on the route to restore the critical situations which persist on some sections, so much so that between Bazzano and Vignola all convoys are required to reduce their speed to 30 km per hour. The end of the emergency phase was also communicated by the mayor of Valsamoggia, Daniele Ruscigno who in a post reconstructed the picture of the damage from the storm which saw “the Rio Marzatore in which part of the roadway is completely compromised and which is the most affected area , on which there is 95% of the damage caused by the atmospheric phenomenon, as well as some minor streams and some landslides, which will require an extraordinary commitment and on which we are already working”.

Then reiterating that it was “a localized water bomb which mainly affected the hillsides which spilled debris and slime downstream and affected the minor streams which leaked. We are talking about over 70mm of rainfall in less than 3 hours, the same quantity expected in 3 months”, he specified in his speech on social media where he responded point by point also to the many critical observations of citizens.
