Friuli, start screening for investments in Albania

TIRANA (ALBANIA) (ITALPRESS) – Collect the investment and cooperation opportunities with Albania in a dossier and start a targeted screening, both with the companies of Friuli Venezia Giulia and at the system level of the Regions and autonomous Provinces, aimed at promote the activation of shared projects: a consolidation of relations between territories which will be culminated in the organization of a specific business event, dedicated to stakeholders, capable of opening up discussions between mutual institutions and production worlds. This is the proposal put forward by the governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia Massimiliano Fedriga during the second day of meetings in Tirana with numerous local authorities, including the deputy minister of Tourism and environment Almira Xhembulla, the deputy minister of Infrastructure and energy Ami Kozeli and the mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj.

Alongside the highest exponent of the regional executive, the councilors for Productive Activities and Tourism and for Environmental Protection, Energy and Sustainable Development. The governor also focused on the North Adriatic hydrogen valley project: a side on which there is wide scope for dialogue between Friuli Venezia Giulia and Albania, the latter acting as a potential partner for the supply of green hydrogen, enhancing in particular the port connection between Trieste and Durazzo. An issue, the environmental one, also closely related to the needs of more sustainable tourism, for example by focusing on hybrid propulsion cruise ships to reduce pollution without giving up the advantages deriving from a market which, in the Italian peninsula alone, has counted 12 .8 million passengers in 2023. Also interesting, according to the highest exponent of the regional executive, are the possible points of contact deriving from the nomination of Gorizia and Nova Gorica as European Capital of Culture and of Tirana and Alexandria in Egypt as Mediterranean Capitals of Culture and dialogue: hence the invitation to develop partnerships to promote the respective territories by 2025. Also in the morning, the governor was a guest of the Albanian Parliament, where he met the president of the National Council for European Integration Jorida Tabaku to discuss the country’s accession process to the Union: a long and complex process, started in 2009, which it marked important milestones in 2014, with the formal attribution of the status of “candidate”, and in 2022, with the official start of negotiations. photo: Agenzia Fotogramma (ITALPRESS). tvi/com 22-May-24 14:00 .
