An amazing one Nicole Cadei won the Gran Prix Aquabike Città di Chioggia in the second stage of the 2024 Italian Watercraft Championship. A wonderful one-two achieved in the two heats by the fifteen-year-old from Bergamo who, from being a promising powerboat athlete, is revealing herself, stage after stage, as one of the most interesting athletes on the entire Italian scene.
The two days of competitions, which ended on Sunday in the body of water in front of the Park Diga beach in Chioggia (VE) and which were organized by the ASD Kanarin Experience of Juri Tiozzo Celi under the aegis of the Italian Motorboating Federation (FIM), saw Nicole enchant the numerous audiences who came to admire the acrobatics of the over 120 pilots involved in the races. The statement is clear Nicole. A result that projects Nicole Cadei firmly at the top of the championship standings in the Novice category in which she competed (then also competing in the “Youth 15-18 years” category where she placed fifth).
In the queen Endurance F1 category, the super champion from Bergamo Michele Cadei (father of Nicole and his coach) was unfortunately betrayed once again by his Yamaha FX 1800 Turbo during the second heat after finishing third in the first race. Mechanical failure that forced Michele to retreat. The wait for the arrival of the new very powerful jet ski is therefore growing more and more: the Kawasaki which Michele Cadei he should already drive in the next round of the championship, for example Anconaor at the latest at the World Cup, in Francein July.
At the end of the competition, here is the comment from Michele Cadei: «I am excited and very happy for the incredible race that Nicole ran. I saw her very focused and stubborn, completely at ease with herself and increasingly confident. I feel that after last year’s mistakes and mistakes, she has finally found the right gear. As for me, I’m anxiously awaiting my new Kawasaki: I’m returning to my old love, albeit with a completely new and never so powerful bike».
Among the other athletes of the «Moto d’Acqua Italia» team based at Laghetto Treviza in Treviglio (BG) good proof of Amleto Belletti and the very young Aurora Filiberti. The next and third round of the Italian Watercraft Championship will be held in Ancona on June 8th and 9th. (US Jet Ski Italy)
