Digital services, 81 branches active in Liguria to help and inform citizens: here’s where they are

Liguria. Introduce citizens who are not yet fully familiar with technology to the use of computers, smartphones and online services.

With this objective, “Punto digital facile” was born, the three-year project (financed by measure 1.7.2 of the PNRR) with which the Liguria Region has activated 81 branches (the so-called “facilitation points”) distributed throughout the regional territory, to which every citizen you can turn to receive support on various needs related to the use of the digital world: from the use of the Spid to the online enrollment of your children at school, from the use of online public services to the protection of your personal data, from defense against fake news to use of email services.

“IT skills are an increasingly strategic element for the development of our country and it is increasingly essential to actively involve citizens, especially older people, in this path of digital literacy – underlines the regional councilor for economic development with responsibility for the digitalisation of territory -. To contribute to achieving this objective, the Liguria Region has established, making use of PNRR resources, a widespread network of digital facilitation points responsible for providing assistance and free training, which aim to intercept and involve 57 thousand people by the end of 2025″.

Of the 81 Ligurian facilitation points (10 more than the 71 expected), 56 were activated by a network that brings together 13 third sector bodies (34 in the province of Genoa, 8 in that of Imperia, 8 in that of Savona and 6 in the province of La Spezia). For the remaining 25 locations, however, the project makes use of the experimental Digitalmentis project, again managed by the Liguria Region, and aimed mainly at the digital education of elderly people and vulnerable individuals in the Consumer Help Desk locations in the provincial capitals.

“Digitalmentis’ support for Punto Digitale Facile is a demonstration of how the Liguria Region makes the projects it implements increasingly synergistic, for greater effectiveness and optimization of results – states the regional councilor for Consumer Protection – . Specifically, the objective is to create a single digital facilitation network, which Ligurian citizens can turn to for support and increase their digital skills. We want to reduce the digital divide and promote education on the technologies of the present and the future.”

Each facilitation point makes use of the collaboration of digital facilitators (currently 100 in Liguria), specially trained operators who identify the needs of individual citizens, evaluate their initial IT preparation and support them in the acquisition of skills that make them autonomous and capable of using IT tools and the Internet. The training and assistance activities are carried out in the form of personalized training, in person and online, also in self-learning mode through 57 free video tutorials on basic digital skills, available on the DigitalAcademy digital platform https://academy.liguriadigitale.it.
