Pugnaloni: the Barbarossa Group wins the 2024 edition

According to Sant’Anna, in third place is Porta della Ripa – Centro. The verdict at the end of a day full of celebrations

The work created by the Barbarossa group wins the 2024 edition of the Pugnaloni di Acquapendente, the traditional event of the town in Alta Tuscia whose protagonists are the splendid vertical mosaics of flowers and leaves created in honor of the Madonna del Fiore. The Sant’Anna group is in second place, while Porta della Ripa – Centro is third. Following this, fourth place for the Via Francigena group, fifth Via del Carmine and sixth Prima Equipe Via del Fiore.

The jury’s verdict arrived at the end of a day full of initiatives which constituted the highlight of the celebrations and which, despite the variable weather, attracted an excellent crowd of people to Acquapendente.

The Pugnaloni were displayed along streets and squares and in the afternoon paraded in a city animated by flag-wavers and a historical procession. The traditional flag show was staged in Piazza Girolamo Fabrizio awaiting the religious procession and the arrival of the Pugnaloni, before proceeding with the proclamation of the winner and the award ceremony.
