The Veronese Umberto Scandola collected his eighth personal success (a record!) in the Marche competition and, with the Friulian Paolo Cagnelutti as navigator, on the Skoda Fabia R5 Evo (in the photo) he won the Adriatic Rally held in Cingoli in the 31st edition for the organized by Prs Group with the Municipality and contested by 82 crews on the 250 km route, of which 75 are competitive and reserved for the three timed phases to be repeated three times each. Combined with the competition, the third of the six of the Italian Rally Terra championship, the second round of the Junior tricolor in which the Treviso duo Marco Zanin-Fabio Pizzol (Renault Clio Rally 5) established themselves. Truly pulsating, paced on the edge of tenths of a second, it was the final phase in which the outcome of the competitive event was decided: a trio of changes characterized the dominance at the top which had a jolt up to the three remaining scheduled commitments . . Already from fifth, Scandola had managed to stand out, then from sixth the Florentine Tommaso Ciuffi took the lead paired with Pietro Cigni. But Scandola subsequently imposed his supremacy: by setting the best time, he established himself by combining the conquest of the overall with that of leader of the provisional classification in which he now precedes, by only one point, Alberto Battistolli from Vicenza, who has been displaced from his position of pre-eminence ( he was made uncomfortable by an electrical problem suffered by his car) in which he had a four-point advantage over his direct rival. The top quintet was garnished by the Finnish pairing Mikko Heikkola-Kristian Temonen, who, having won the opening round in Foligno, did not get in tune with the strenuous characteristics of the track sections. THE RANKING: 1. Scandola-Cargnelutti (Skoda Fabia 5 Evo) in 47’01; 2. Ciuffi-Cigni (id.) at 5.0; 3. Battistolli-Scattolin (Skoda Fabia R5 Rally 2) at 34.1; 4. Oldrati-Ciucci (id.) at 35.3; 5. Heikkola-Temonen (Toyota Yaris) at 57.3. Gianfilippo Centanni
