On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic, the Prefecture of Latina promoted a series of celebratory initiatives, which were carried out with the participation of the 4th Telecommunications Systems Brigade for Air Defense and Flight Assistance, Borgo Air Force Piave, of the Anti-aircraft Artillery Command of Sabaudia, of the Municipality of Latina and of the Fire Brigade.
The demonstration began yesterday at 9.30 am, in Piazza della Libertà, with the deployment of the Armed Forces and the Police Forces to honor the Prefect of the Province of Latina, which was followed by the flag-raising ceremony and the reading of the message of the President of the Republic.
Following this, Prefect Maurizio Falco presented the diplomas of the Honors of Merit of the Italian Republic, granted by the President of the Republic to twenty
citizens of this Province. Once the award ceremony was concluded, the Fire Brigade of the Provincial Command of Latina unfurled the tricolor flag in front of the authorities and the public present in Piazza della Libertà.
A static exhibition of military vehicles was set up in the same square.
To conclude the celebrations, a performance, in the gardens of this Prefecture, by the Tenor Aldo Caputo accompanied on the piano by the pianist Roberto Corlianò; the event was enlivened by the students of the Alessandro Manzoni musical high school in Latina who will play songs prepared for the occasion by the school’s teachers.
The initiatives, carried out with the precious collaboration of bodies and institutions, are the result of a synergy between the Prefecture and local reality, with the aim of giving the community the opportunity to celebrate the common national identity together, through the valorisation of the culture of the Republic .
