Udine – “Diversimili – the Biodiversity Festival”, organized by the Udine-based association Kaleidoscienza, is ready to kick off its fourth edition with a rich program of over 16 dedicated free events including workshops, laboratories and shows for the whole family, from Friday 24 May to Sunday 26. The location, again this year, is the headquarters in via Brigata Re 29 in Udine.

The three-day festival aims to promote environmental awareness through a unique combination of insights, training and entertainment designed for a diverse audience: from children to adults. The objective is to dialogue on fundamental issues for the future of the planet through creativity and art with a program capable of encouraging meetings with experts through unusual methods, sometimes playful, other times artistic.

An example is the Dinomostra, a scientifically accurate exhibition of dinosaurs and their living environments created by a group of children under the guidance of teacher Carlo Rigon, or Saturday’s theatrical performance Lettere dal Mare by Teatro della Sete, where two waters sisters, Atlantica and Mediterranea, tell the story of the climate changes taking place on Earth. And again on Sunday, the guided exploration Electric Forests, by the musical research duo Impero della luce, which will make small groups of people listen to the electromagnetic soundscape of the city.

A small taste of Diversimili, ready to offer the city and the neighborhood that hosts it an opportunity to animate urban spaces through the language of science and art, as stated by the president of Kaleidoscienza, Giada Rossi:
“For us it is important to raise awareness of the environment, nature and biodiversity with an informal approach that involves people by stimulating interaction, play and curiosity. We have thought of a varied program that can involve adults and children, with particular attention to current issues and the paths undertaken to introduce young generations to science.”

During the week of the Festival, two significant anniversaries coincide: May 22nd is World Biodiversity Day, while May 25th is dedicated to World Play Day.
