FEAR AMONG CITIZENS AT EVERY STORM DUE TO THE ABSENCE OF MAINTENANCE IN
STREETS AND ROAD SEWERS
BOLOGNA, 17 MAY – “One year after the dramatic flood
brought Romagna to its knees among the citizens, with every storm, it remains there
fear that it could happen again, due to the lack of maintenance
along the course of streams and in road sewers”. The complaint belongs to the
regional councilors of the League Andrea Liverani and Stefano Bargi, too
candidate for the European Parliament, who announced an interpellation in
Regional Council. “The latest showers to hit
Bagnacavallo (Ravenna) have transformed the streets, where many manholes do not
they have long been cleaned, in real lakes. Same situation along the courses
of water – accuse Liverani and Bargi – where the branches not removed have
hindered the normal flow of water, causing it to rise dangerously
the level. Added to this is the damage to the affected agricultural sector
even from out-of-season hailstorms.” Liverani and Bargi denounce the
recurrence of a situation of uncertainty and danger for families and
local businesses despite the sums allocated on several occasions for
solve the problem of care and maintenance of sewage systems and courses
of water.
