Canicatti Web News – “Mosaic artists for a day”, free workshop for children at the Antiquarium Vito Soldano

Mosaicists for a day, imagining being with Titus Sennius Felix Pu(teolanus), an important master mosaicist originally from Pozzuoli who between the 3rd and 4th centuries AD composed his signature with the tiles inside the very refined mosaic found in Lillebonne in Normandy. At the Antiquarium Vito Soldano in Canicattì on Sunday 19 May at 11.30 am free workshop for children between 6 and 12 years old “Mosaiciti for a day like Titus Sennius Felix Pu(teolanus)”, an event curated by CoopCulture which is part of the valorization actions undertaken by Archaeological and Landscape Park of the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento

During the experience, the archaeologists will take the young guests on a visit to the nearby archaeological area where they will learn some aspects relating to the history and archeology of the site. At the end the group will be involved in a workshop focused on the art of mosaic which, weather permitting, will be held in the open air in the external courtyard of the antiquarium overlooking the Canicattino countryside, or in the rooms located on the upper floor of the antiquarium: The activity will allow the imagination and creativity of the little guests to be given free rein by re-elaborating in a personal way what was explained by the archaeologists through the story centered on Titus Sennius Felix Pu(teolanus).

Reservation required, participation in the experience is guaranteed only to those who show up with a regular reservation.
