The nurse at the San Luigi hospital in Orbassano sentenced to eight months in first instance on charges of not having correctly estimated the pathology of a patient entering the emergency room, who later died, was acquitted on appeal. “It was July 2022 when one of our colleagues was sentenced to eight months in prison for murder
negligent – explains the Nursind union in a note -, a case which has shaken the entire nursing category and in particular the emergency trenches so much so as to give rise to various initiatives promoted by NurSind in support of the nurse. It could have happened to any of us, that’s why we have been close to him all this time, supporting his battle with strength and determination which was also the battle of all of us”. In fact the acquittal comes because the fact does not exist: the patient died due to a sudden event not connected to the pathology for which he had entered the emergency room.
