The third edition of Valsusa Oil Festival, which promises to be an unmissable event for all lovers of olive oil and local products, will be held in Borgone Susa The June 2.
The event will begin at 9 with the opening of the exhibition stands: a wide range of local products will be offered, allowing visitors to savor the different nuances of taste that characterize Valsusa oil. Furthermore, during the event there will be an opportunity to meet the producers, learn about cultivation and production techniques, and delve into the history and culture surrounding this precious resource.
The event includes a series of activity collateral, including laboratories educational, tastings drive and shows for children. A way to spend a day full of good food, culture and fun.
The olive groves of Valsusa can boast a history spanning over a thousand years. The olive tree stumps, still traceable today in Susa, Mompantero, Giaglione, Gravere and Foresto, bear witness to an ancient olive cultivation that has resisted the passage of time. In recent years, thanks to the commitment of some enthusiasts, this cultivation is not only reborn, but it is quickly grown up. Currently, the portion of territory that goes from Gravere to Almese hosts well 4,000 olive trees, of which 1,500 in Borgone alone.
TO Borgone, a good part of the ancient terraces, once used for the cultivation of vines, have been converted into olive groves. This change has led to a transformation of the typical local product, which has passed from wine with oil.
The Valsusa Oil Festival therefore represents a unique opportunity for discover And taste the products of these lands.
