«The opportunity to inform councilors and citizens should have been that of the council meeting of May 14th, the last of the legislature and therefore the last useful one to discuss the Prefect’s opinion, when instead Travison – neglecting the obligations dictated by the municipal regulation – preferred not address the topic. The reason, which we had already imagined, becomes clear at this point: the mayor is deliberately postponing the problem, fearing that the effects of the city council meeting of 24 April will lose their effectiveness, including the cancellation of the operational plan (an instrument not approved in five years) which evidently Travison and his council were in a hurry to approve a subdivision right close to the elections”.
«From here came the hasty Council which attracted the attention of the opposition and of the Prefect, who in his opinion of 6 May asked the mayor of Scarlino to “deepen the issue, together with the opposition municipal councillors, for an authentic interpretation of the regulatory standard”.
