Music festival while sailing, the “Tinozzi” of Pescara wins

The youth orchestra of the “Tinozzi” school of Pescara ranks first among eight institutes

First prize on board the ‘Ship of Music Seamphony’ for the ‘Tinozzi’ youth orchestra of the Pescara 8 comprehensive institute, during a three-day journey from Civitavecchia to Barcelona: a music festival in navigation which involved eight schools musical coming from Abruzzo, Puglia, Campania, Lazio and Tuscany to compete in choirs and orchestras, with classical and modern pieces. The winning ‘on board’ orchestra, from the Pescara institute directed by Dr. Michela Terrigni, achieved a score of 100/100. The 71 kids were coordinated by professors Rocco Masci, Cristina Bonaccini, Roberto Desiderio and Maurizio Di Fulvio who for years have been carrying out a great project in which all the pupils of the Tinozzi lower secondary school are involved, motivated in learning to play a specific musical instrument.

The trip on the Grimaldi Lines Cruise Roma ship was organized by Educational Tour and the Castellarte association. The percussion class also received a special recognition as the best group led by Professor Roberto Desiderio. The commission was chaired by maestro Simone Genuini, director of the JuniOrchestra, the youth orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, and by maestro Piero Di Egidio, director of the Fermo Conservatory. Accompanying the children are teachers Noemi Cipollone, Carla Stocchino and Franca Buccella. The experience in Barcelona was also enriched by the visit to the Palau of Catalan Music, the only concert hall that UNESCO has declared part of the world heritage of humanity.
