Critical situation in the Montagnanese and Megliadina areas due to the bad weather of the last few hours.

The walled city, in particular, is the one facing the greatest problems, with numerous streets flooded and large quantities of water stored even in the historic center. The municipal operations center has been activated and, in addition to the firefighters, civil protection volunteers are also at work. There are various homes with water in the basements, so much so that the Municipality has started distributing the bags in the Civil Protection hangar in Palù.

Civil protection also active in Borgo Veneto, where the water also entered the primary school canteen: the students had to have lunch in class, with an exemption signed by the mayor.

Vegro, Ca’ Ponte, Bianchin, Cavazocche and Frassenara streets are underwater.
The Vampadore drain, between Megliadino San Vitale and Megliadino San Fidenzio, is barely holding water. There are also problems in Casale di Scodosia and Ospedaletto Euganeo.
The real problem is the large quantity of water falling in a short time, situation that makes flow difficult. There are no displaced families, while the mayors anticipate that the damage toll is considerable, also on the agricultural front.

The firefighters are engaged in this area with all the available teams, also in Urbana, Castelbaldo and Masi, other municipalities suffering from heavy rains. In the rest of the province the situation is under control. From Padua city no reports of critical situations.
