It was banned church of Hagia Sophiain Poderia, a hamlet of Cells of Bulgaria, after the collapse of a part of the plaster from the ceiling which occurred yesterday afternoon during the mass in honor of the patron saint, which also caused one injury, fortunately minor and immediately discharged by the doctors.
This morning, in fact, the firefighters carried out a further inspection and cordoned off the area awaiting the necessary safety works, while the celebrations in honor of Santa Sofia they will continue outdoors.
The incident occurred during the religious celebration officiated by the parish priest, Don Ivan. Suddenly, a piece of plaster broke away from the ceiling and fell to the floor. The accident occurred in the entrance area of the church, which is why the open door cushioned the fall and shattered the plaster. One of the faithful was slightly injured and taken to hospital by a family member for checks. The police from the station arrived on site Orsaia Towerthe local police of Cells of Bulgaria and the firefighters, as well as the first citizen of the municipality Gino Marotta from Cilento.
