Five young people aged between 19 and 20 were involved in a car accident in Merano, in the province of Como. They took a roundabout on the wrong side of traffic and one of them is very serious.

The dynamics of the tragic accident
Four boys and a girl, aged between 19 and 20 years old, they were returning home after a night at the disco in the Dacia of one of them. It was around 4am and they were driving via Manzoni in Merone, a town in the province of Como. They were traveling in the wrong direction on a roundabout heading out towards Rogeno, when they hit an obstacle and the car overturned.
Three of them were virtually unharmed. The driver was transported to Sant’Anna hospital in San Fermo della Battaglia with several injuries, but with code yellow (therefore not very serious). Another boy, however, got the worst of it. He got his head stuck between the seat and the pillar of the car. The injuries immediately appeared very serious, so much so that the boy was taken to the San Gerardo hospital in Monza under code red by air ambulance.

The conditions of the young man involved
The unluckiest of the group of boys is a twenty year old from Casatenovo, in the province of Lecco. He reported a head trauma it’s a’large wound to the head due to rubbing with the asphalt. His prognosis is currently guarded. Immediately after the accident, the young man was conscious enough to be able to call rescuers, despite his injuries and the heavy loss of blood. Alcohol tests are underway on the driver of the car.
The 118 rescuers, the helicopter from Como, the SOS of Canzo, the medical car of the LarioSoccorso of Erba, the SOS of Lurago d’Erba and the ambulance of the LarioSoccorso of Erba intervened on site. The Cri of Monza and Brianza also intervened for the connection with the helicopter, the Carabinieri of Cantù and the firefighters of Erba.
