Starting from the pastoral suggestions of Pope Francis and the indications of the Taranto social week (2021), Diocesan Caritas, Social pastoral care of workwith ACLI, CISL, Legambiente Comoin collaboration with “it’s ours” and with the participation of the Sweekly newspaper of the Diocesepropose a moment of reflection and discussion on the themes of ecological conversion, the construction of the common good from below, the democratic and co-responsible participation of our communities, with particular attention to the themes of ecological transition, energy poverty and possible developments linked to implementation of the CER(S), renewable energy communities (solidarity).

The promoting entities would like to share not only their sensitivity and attention towards the issues of ecological transition with the communities, with the territories, with the administrations. But in particular, sharing lines and projects, as in the case of CER(S), which open up possibilities for investment and renewal towards the creation of a more equitable, just and supportive society, with an eye on our lifestyles and the inclusion of weaker groups.

Therefore, the interest and support of the parishes in this process is considered important, which highlights a concrete way of reaffirming the “integral ecology” proposed by the social pastoral care of the Church as a new model of human and sustainable development. The central objective through the CER(S) is, in fact, also to be able to promote fraternity and social inclusion, improving territorial ties and cohesion between people, as well as representing an effective response to combating energy poverty in Italy, an emergency in which 2.2 million families already find themselves.
