The forecasts of some analysts, published a few weeks ago, confirmed that SSD prices will continue to increase also in 2024. Well, new research published by TrendForce shows that the same trend will also concern RAM.
In fact, analysts from the TrendForce company have revised their previous estimates upwards for 2024, which spoke of an increase in DDR5 RAM prices of between 3 and 8%. In the new research, in fact, we talk about a price increase within a range of 15 to 20%, therefore quite full-bodied. What has just begun will be the third consecutive quarter in which DRAM prices will record double-digit growth: in April, in fact, DRAM prices for servers increased from 9 to 19%.
Reportedly, the the main reason for this increase would be linked to the relocation of resources by manufacturers, who are shifting their attention towards the production of high bandwidth memory (HBM).
