The AOKZOE A2 Ultra gaming handheld gets its price revealed

AOKZOE officially announced the A2 Ultra at the Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 event last month. While the company revealed everything about the gaming handheld at the event, pricing details had not yet been confirmed. It is now available for pre-order in China.

AOKZOE A2 Ultra with Intel Core Ultra 5 125H16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at CNY 4,999 (around $692). Its updated variant with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H32GB RAM and 1TB storage costs CNY 6,399 (around $886). The high-end model with 2TB of storage costs CNY7,199 (about $996).

In our launch coverage we noted that the new AOKZOE gaming laptop will go up against the MSI Claw, which is also available with the same Intel Meteor Lake processors. Now, while we don’t have international pricing for the A2 Ultra yet, its launch price is higher than MSI’s offering in China, which is CNY 4,599 (around $636).

This could mean that the global price of AOKZOE A2 Ultra will also be higher than that of MSI Claw in international markets. To inform you, the Claw starts at $699, while the maximum variant costs $799. By comparison, you can buy the better-performing Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme for $699, and even lower when it’s on sale.

Of course, MSI has released new firmware for the Claw, which has improved gaming performance in some popular games. However, the overall performance still seems inferior to that of AMD-equipped gaming laptops. We haven’t gotten adequate benchmarks for the AOKZOE A2 Ultra yet, so it’s unclear whether this is a gaming laptop that performs better than the Intel Meteor Lake.
