The president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo, said this DeLucaspeaking from the stage of the ‘Be wise, drive safely’ initiative, which takes place in Piazza Municipio in Naples and is promoted by the Region.
Addressing the audience of students, De Luca stated: “Autonomy means the end of the unification of Italy. We must be ready to defend the heritage of our history that entire generations have fought for. We cannot deny the values of national unity and the dignity of the South and of our young people which is not for sale. The South cannot be sold or bought. There is someone who thinks he can blackmail us and buy us with little money”he concluded.
FSC – “I believe they have just started the discussion, for now we have an attitude of total irresponsibility on the part of the national government which has wasted a year of time and has damaged the South because the cohesion agreements have not been signed with Sardinia, Sicily, Campania and Puglia and therefore the whole South is betrayed and trampled on.” Thus the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo DeLucaon the sidelines of the initiative to promote road safety, in relation to today’s session of the Council of State, a further chapter in the dispute between the Campania Region and the Ministry of the South on the issue of the development and cohesion funds.
“They are doing everything they can to steal these funds too – stated De Luca – which have been destined for the Southern regions since last July, resources that are used to make development programs in the Southern regions”. According to the governor of Campania in Rome “they have lost all rules, all institutional grace. By now we would have already had the construction sites open and we would have created jobs and instead we are behind the imbecility of ministers who only try to block the resources destined for the South. The resources for the infrastructure equalization fund have already been absorbed at a national level – he continued – these for development and cohesion funds are blocked. It is a crime, but we are in a country where such sensational and scandalous things do not make the news also because no one has an interest in defending the South”.

Thus the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, addressed directly to the many students who this morning animated the village of ‘Be wise, drive safe’, an initiative promoted by the Campania Region and created by Anci Campania, in collaboration with the association Meridians. Upon his arrival, De Luca visited the stands including that of a hotel institute and here the boys offered him a strictly non-alcoholic cocktail.
To reporters who asked him for an opinion on the new highway code, he responded succinctly: “It’s a ‘salvation'”.
Speaking about the road safety campaign, the governor recalled: “This is a program wanted by the Region to educate young generations in civil values, in a sense of responsibility starting from the way of being on the streets, the way of driving, but more generally it is aimed at transmitting values of solidarity and responsibility to young people because that what happens during nightlife nights is shocking.” He therefore underlined the need to work with the world of schools, with religious institutions, with volunteers, with the world of sports “to educate young people in positive values”.
In terms of things to do so that there is more safety on the roads, De Luca placed the emphasis on maintenance, the implementation of video surveillance and supervision.
