Yesterday, 8 May, an important meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education and Merit, which saw the participation of the Minister Giuseppe Valditara, the Calabrian group leader of the League in the Regional Council Giuseppe Gelardi and the responsible for the Lega electoral campaign in Calabria, Rossano Sasso.

The meeting was characterized by an extremely constructive atmosphere, highlighting the strong commitment of all participants in outlining the next steps to be taken in relation to the Calabria Dossier, a central topic on Minister Valditara’s agenda since his inauguration.

There have been numerous initiatives and resources already committed by the Ministry for the redevelopment of the education sector in Calabria. Among these, mention should be made of the initiatives for the safety and seismic adaptation of regional school buildings, the strengthening of educational services for children aged 0 to 6, the construction of new school gyms and the strengthening of the laboratories of schools superior.

Particular attention was also paid to training in the field of STEM disciplines, to strengthening the skills of teaching staff and to the implementation of integrated teaching practices. Furthermore, the commitment to overcome territorial disparities in basic learning and combat school dropout is fundamental, as is the support for students with disabilities through the allocation of funds for teaching aids.

Rossano Sasso and Giuseppe Gelardi, with their profound knowledge of the territory and the Calabrian school environment, have committed to providing valid support to the work of Minister Valditara, guaranteeing an effective interface between Rome and the region.

Finally, the Minister informally announced during the meeting that he will soon return to Calabria for a new institutional visit, thus confirming the strategic importance that the government attributes to the region in terms of education and training.
