David Cronenberg he returned to directing with The Shrouds and, while waiting for the world premiere scheduled for the Cannes Film Festival, new ones have appeared online photo of the film.
The feature film will be presented in competition and has a duration of 116 minutes, as confirmed by the producers of the long-awaited film project.
What the film will tell
The Shrouds stars Vincent Cassel, Diane Kruger, Guy Pearce and Sandrine Holt.
At the center of the plot is Karsh, a prominent fifty-year-old businessman. After his wife’s death he is inconsolable and invents GraveTech, a revolutionary and controversial technology that allows people to monitor deceased loved ones in their shrouds. One night, more than one grave, including that of Karsh’s wife, is desecrated. Karsh then decides to try to track down the culprits.

The team that collaborated with David Cronenberg on the film also includes director of photography Douglas Koch, editor Christopher Donaldson, and composer Howard Shore.
Cronenberg’s film will be in competition at the French festival and, among the titles in the running to win the Palme d’Or, there will also be new projects directed by Gilles Lelouche, Andrea Arnold, Jia Zhangke, Jacques Audiard, Ali Abbasi, Yorgos Lanthimos , Kirill Serebrennikov, Francis Ford Coppola, Michel Hazanavicius, Paul Schrader and also the Italian Paolo Sorrentino who will present his Parthenope.
The jury that will award the official prizes in this edition of the festival, scheduled from 14 to 25 May, will be led by Greta Gerwig who will be president and will also include Pierfrancesco Favino, JA Bayona, Ebru Ceylan, Lily Gladstone, Eva Green, Hirokazu Kore -eda, Nadine Labaki and Omar Sy.
