The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Lodi today made a request to dismiss the investigation into instigating or aiding the suicide of Giovanna Pedretti, the restaurateur from Sant’Angelo Lodigiano found dead last 14 January in the waters of the Lambro after the controversy over the response to an online customer review against gays and disabled people deemed false. The investigations established that no one helped Pedretti in his suicide and that the alleged customer’s review was not genuine. Now, the file passes to the preliminary investigation judge for possible oppositions or for definitive dismissal.

I don’t think the family will oppose the filing proposed by the Lodi Prosecutor’s Office” to the investigation into the incitement to suicide of Giovanna Pedretti.
This is what Simona Callegari, lawyer for the family of the restaurateur who took her own life, explained to ANSA after the media storm triggered by a Facebook post that turned out to be false.
“The behavior of the husband and daughter was never ‘in attack’ but rather waiting for everything to be clarified – adds Callegari -. We know that the Lodi Prosecutor’s Office worked in a meticulous and careful manner. However, we will definitively evaluate what to do after having calmly analyzed the documents. Today there is no desire to oppose and ask for further investigations. We will see once we have read everything in detail: there is no rush.” Meanwhile, the Pedretti family continues to ask for maximum privacy from anyone, respecting their pain.
