In a press release issued by, the Civil Protection of Puglia announces the assignment of a loan of 2.2 million euros for the prevention and fight against forest fires in four internal areas of the region: Monti Dauni, Gargano, Alta Murgia and South Salento. The decision, discussed this morning in Campi Salentina, aims to strengthen the tools available to the area to deal with the summer season and fire emergencies.

The funding supports the purchase of equipment and the strengthening of the operational capabilities of staff and volunteers, contributing to more effective emergency management and operational safety. Marianna Lambresa and Francesco Vito Ronco, officials of the Regional Civil Protection Section, participated in the series of meetings with local institutions to coordinate the interventions.

Barbara Valenzano, manager of the Civil Protection Section of the Puglia Region, highlighted the importance of this measure: “This is an important step forward in terms of preventing and combating forest fires in our region. Thanks to the new tools available to the territories involved in the Project, we can guarantee the safety of people and the protection of the environmental and cultural heritage of our communities”.
