Also this year, the children of the IC “Santi Bivona” of Menfi met the President of the WWF Sicily Mediterranean Area, Arch. Giuseppe Mazzotta, almost as if it were a generational refresher course.
Beautiful, these middle school students, and very attentive to the arguments proposed by the WWF on the causes, behaviors and remedies to tackle the climate crisis that is afflicting our planet.
And a reflection comes. Maybe it’s because this city, Menfi, manages to stand out from its surroundings in terms of cultural offerings because the people of Menfi have never closed themselves in ideological blind alleys, choosing, instead, to give space to ideas, projects and proposals that could provide responses to emergencies recurring?
There have been various municipal administrations that have followed one another, but each time the feeling that is breathed in the air of Menfi is its maturity in all the so-called cultural segments of the population.
The secret seems to be widespread knowledge and awareness, based not on the stunning of the masses, but through a dense calendar of cultural occasions that never feel like a stupid sausage festival.
For this reason, perhaps, coming to Menfi, for the WWF, is like being at home, a good and welcoming home, attractive and peaceful.
Having greeted the head teacher, Dr. Maria Francesca Cusumano, the meetings in the various schools were opened by the prof. Vincenzo Termine, school representative, and then we were joined by the WWF manager of Menfi, Antonella Graffeo, who is carrying out splendid work to raise awareness with targeted initiatives.
There is no doubt, the success of Menfi has been built over the years by the people of Menfi, who love their territory and do not exploit it, but caress it without causing irreparable wounds, not always, of course, but in the majority of cases.
Over the years, Menfi has been awarded multiple awards by the WWF.
