Night of fire and fear in Palermo due to a fire that broke out in the depot of a trucking company in via Lanza di Scalea. The flames destroyed three vehicles of the Trasporti e Logistica srl company, located at number 1396, a few meters from Palazzo Gamma. The fire spread within a few minutes and involved three trucks in total, which were destroyed.

When the alarm was raised, five teams of firefighters from the headquarters, the North detachment and the Carini volunteer detachment arrived on site and started the extinguishing and clean-up operations: the intervention took place this morning (2 May ), It is still in progress. One of the vehicles involved in the fire was empty while the other two had a load of pallets containing household paper. The material inevitably fueled the flames, making the fire even larger and causing a large cloud of black smoke which made the air unbreathable throughout the area.

The intervention of technicians from the Nbcr advanced regional unit was therefore also necessary to assess the presence of substances dangerous to public safety. In fact, polluting substances also went up in smoke in the fire. The police also arrived in via Lanza di Scalea and carried out investigations and started investigations to trace the origin of the fire. At the moment, no hypotheses are ruled out, but all checks will be carried out when the reclamation work is completed.
