Smells, even intense, of gas for about two months in the central areas of Vado Ligure between the Aurelia, via Piave and via Sabazia and the extraordinary commissioner Maurizio Gatto, after several inspections, issued an ordinance.
There were several reports from citizens which led to interventions by Italgas, as well as fire brigade personnel who were however unable to determine the nature and origin of the emissions.
Last April 30, the Savona fire brigade sent the inspection report following an urgent technical rescue at the Esso Italiana Srl production plant in Via Sabazia, in which the persistence of an acrid odor similar to gas was ascertained and after an in-depth inspection of the entire area of the industrial site, an increase in odor had been noted in the vicinity of the industrial waste water treatment system (TK 59 tank and underlying pumping system located in the square in front of the entrance.
For this reason, in the order the Commissioner asks the company to clean the waste water storage tank (TK59) and reclaim the pumping system serving it.
Once the operations have been completed, the certification of compliance (the declaration of verification of the removal of the problems detected) must be sent to the Fire Brigade, the Municipality of Vado Ligure and the Prefecture of Savona.
