ANCI Lazio and Sächsischer Städte-und Gemeindetag: operational agreement signed

Today, at the headquarters of the Lazio Region in Rome, the ceremony was held for the signing of an important operational agreement between the National Association of Italian Municipalities of Lazio (ANCI Lazio) and the Sächsischer Städte-und Gemeindetag (SSG). The meeting saw the participation of the President of ANCI Lazio, Riccardo Varoneby the President of Sächsischer Städte-und Gemeindetag, Bert Wendscheof the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco RoccaHis Excellency the Ambassador Hans-Dieter Lucasof the Secretary of Anci Lazio, Giuseppe De Righithe vice-president of Anci Lazio, Gianluca Quadrini and the Delegates of the Board of Directors of Anci Lazio, Marina Battisti And Giuseppina Castagnetta.

The agreement signed today is the result of a joint effort aimed at strengthening relations and cooperation between the municipalities of Lazio and Saxony and is part of a broader framework outlined by the Memorandum of Understanding stipulated between the Lazio Region and the Free State of Saxony, aimed at consolidating ties of mutual interest within the European context.

Among the salient points of the operational agreement, there is the commitment to establish scholastic exchange programs between educational institutions of the two territories, encourage collaboration in the artistic-cultural field through the creation of exhibitions and promote joint initiatives in various sectors of mutual interest .

Varone’s statements

Riccardo VaronePresident of ANCI Lazio, declared: “We are extremely satisfied with the signing of this operational agreement, which represents a significant step in promoting relations between the municipalities of Lazio and Saxony. We are confident that this collaboration will lead to important opportunities for cultural, economic and operational exchange, enriching both regions and their communities. Furthermore, with this agreement we are strengthening our twinning network which already includes the active one between Markkleeberg And Boville Ernica and that between Sohland an der Spree And Rocca Priora.

Anci Lazio continues to be on the side of the local municipalities. I want to underline the great commitment made by all the actors of this agreement to achieve its ratification”.

The operational agreement also provides for the establishment of a network of relations between the two associations representing the municipalities and cities of the two regions, as well as annual meetings to define a program of shared activities.

The duration of the agreement is established at three years and will follow the events of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Free State of Saxony and the Lazio Region. The financial coverage of the activities will be defined in the context of the agreed annual programmes.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards greater integration and cooperation between local communities in Lazio and Saxony, contributing to the growth and well-being of their respective regions.
