This morning an accident occurred in Rocca di Papa, in which a wild boar was involved, which later died instantly. The collision between the animal and a van of a well-known porchetta production company occurred on Via Olimpica in the Vivaro hamlet.
The accident occurred around 5.30 this morning, Tuesday 30 April. The animal suddenly crossed the road just as the vehicle was approaching, and the driver did not have time to avoid it. After the collision, the wild boar ended up in the area on the side of the road, now lifeless.
In the early afternoon, the officers of the Local Police of Rocca di Papa arrived on site to manage the traffic, together with the veterinary ASL and the park rangers.
Subsequently, the animal’s body was taken from the Grassi Center for the disposal of the carcass, weighing approximately 80 kg. The van was almost completely destroyed in the impact with the large animal.
The driver was a 28-year-old from Genzano, who managed to control the vehicle, avoiding further impacts, fortunately emerging unharmed
