MESSINA – A 31-year-old from Messina was arrested yesterday afternoon by Flying Squad agents, as he was seriously suspected of crimes of mistreatment against family members and damage followed by fire, for having carried out repeated conduct against his ex-partner, to whom he also set fire to a vehicle, with the aim of damaging the family business.
In particular, according to the elements of responsibility acquired, the threats, physical and verbal attacks perpetrated during the cohabitation but also after the separation, which was never accepted, degenerated into the epilogue of a serious act of intimidation against the woman and her family : the damage, which occurred a few days ago in Messina, to a van used by the victim’s father for carrying out work, which the man set on fire.
The intervention of the section of the Flying Squad specialized in crimes against vulnerable groups and the subsequent investigative investigations made it possible to outline the responsibilities of the suspect. Therefore, on the basis of the elements that emerged against him and collected by the Police, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested the restrictive measure from the investigating judge, who promptly shared the evidentiary framework, applying the measure of precautionary custody in prison against him.
