FLOOD – SIX “ANGELS OF THE MUD” NEW BANNERS OF THE REPUBLIC
Descriptive text here

The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, awarded 29 young Italians, all born after 2000, naming them “Alfieri della Repubblica”.
Among them, there are also six very young people who particularly distinguished themselves during the floods in our region, which mainly hit Romagna on two occasions, between 1st and 3rd May and between 16th and 18th May.
“The floods that hit our territory in 2023 – we read in the note from the Quirinale – in particular Romagna and Tuscany, have once again brought to light the altruism, generosity and sense of community of many young people. The certificates valorise voluntary actions and examples of active citizenship”.
The youngest among the winners are Abderrahim Ben Rhouma, 14 years old, from Cesena, and Selim Ayach, 17 years old, from Gatteo a Mare: the two boys did a great cleaning and clearing job.
The activity of the “Mud Angels” on the ground was managed by Valeria Frasca, 18 years old, from Forlì.
Guido Betti, a 19-year-old from Ravenna, has created an IT platform to coordinate volunteers.
Letizia Galletti, 20 years old, from Lugo di Romagna, was awarded for her tireless activity in supporting the elderly and children in such a difficult moment, using her great passion for music.
Finally, Matteo Violani, an 18-year-old from Ravenna, was rewarded for his determination and his “motivating” activity for other young volunteers.
