Consultation of Women Administrators of Anci Lazio: “Together for Empowerment and the Fight against Gender Violence”
The Council of women administrators of Anci Lazio met in Rieti. The Coordinator Sara Principessa opened the proceedings and the President of the Rieti City Council Claudio Valentini did the honors and the meeting was enriched by Dr. Linda Laura Sabbadini, international expert in gender policies, former director of Istat and chair of Women20 .
At the representative table the Deputy Coordinator Simona Mulè and the Regional Coordinator of the Equal Opportunities Committee of the Lazio Bar Association, Alessia Mostocotto also president of the CPO Rieti which concerned the topic of gender violence and economic violence:
“It is urgent – explained Sabbadini – to intervene to strengthen Italian legislation on the issue of explicit consent and to equip ourselves with a strategy that involves entities, companies, anti-violence centers for the prevention and fight against violence and a development strategy that guarantees the economic autonomy of women; as women administrators you can make a great contribution.”
“With these ongoing initiatives we are strengthening local networks to be more incisive in territorial programmatic actions and impact on higher-level policies. Declares the Deputy Coordinator of the Anci Lazio Women Administrators Council. Furthermore, it is an opportunity for the exchange of good practices: the city of women motion approved by the Municipality of Latina was in fact adopted by the Council and shared with the other municipalities of Lazio so that everyone can adapt it to their own administrative and political context, without losing the organic nature and transversality of the actions”.
To enrich the meeting, the illustration by the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Rieti Letizia Rosati, of the valuable frescoes by Antonino Calcagnadoro and the visit to the Flavio Vespasiano Theatre.
The work of the Consulta closed with greetings from the Mayor of Rieti and Deputy Vice President of Anci Lazio Daniele Sinibaldi.
The new administrators co-opted: Silvia Barone (Lanuvio), Roberta Bartoli (Lariano), Martina Battistelli (Pomezia), Sonia Bianchi (Aprilia), Enrica Cammarano (Albano Laziale), Federica Censi (Latina), Rossella Cipolloni (Borgo Velina), Pina Cochi (Latina), Katia De Carolis (Anguillara), Eugenia Federici (Mentana), Federica Festa (Rome), Elisabetta Gagliassi (Rome), Stefania Padula (Pomezia), Rita Rossetto (San Felice Circeo), Annamaria Speranza (Terracina). Rieti is only the first stage of the Women’s Consultation which has undertaken the commitment to enhance the excellence and professionalism of the area and address the various issues related to women’s empowerment.
The next meeting will be held in Latina on May 29th with as many national guests, experts in gender economics.
