On Monday 29 April at 7pm, the Kennedy bar (Largo San Benedetto – Valenzano) hosts “Aerospace research becomes a startup”. The meeting talks about the best practice of the Apulian startup Flying DEMon, a company specialized in what is now an emerging area of the regional and international economy.
Astrophysics research is transformed from an object of academic study into a business opportunity. The startup deals in particular with monitoring natural radioactivity using drones equipped with radiation detectors. Flying DEMon uses spectroscopic dosimetric techniques using a UAS drone to create maps of agricultural land and study the uniformity of composition, such as for potassium, and soil hydration.
Speakers:
- Serena Loporchio – Physics Researcher, Chief Operating Officer Flying DEMon
- Leonardo Di Venere – Physics Researcher, Chief Financial Officer Flying DEMon
The meeting will be moderated by Mario Gilberti, activist of the Lucidafollia association
Aerospace research becomes a startup is the fourth appointment of the Bite the Byte exhibition, included within the “Valenzano, City of Innovation” initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Valenzano in collaboration with Tecnopolis PST, Ciheam and the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Bari. The Bite the Byte cycle includes 6 meetings in pubs and clubs in Valenzano, for an approach to the culture of innovation that is both pop and institutional, practical and informative.
