A family of 5 evicted and some roads closed after the fall of the cornices: this is the result of yesterday’s 3.9 shock in the Campi Flegrei. This was announced by the Prefecture of Naples, after this morning’s meeting with mayors, Regional Civil Protection, ASL Napoli 1, ASL Napoli 2 Nord, the police forces and the Vesuvian Observatory. “None of the participants highlighted critical issues of particular importance, as no reports were received from the populations of said municipalities”, Palazzo della Foresteria said in a note.

TO Bacoli, a family of 5 people was removed from their home as a precaution, although no structural damage was found to the building. In the same municipality, some roads are closed due to rubble falling from cornices. Dozens of reports and requests for intervention, but no other damage detected in the Phlegraean area. The Port Authority has also made it known that the cliffs overlooking the sea do not present any critical issues. In short, the shock, although strong, did not cause any particular problems. “However, attention remains high on the progress of these phenomena”, the Prefecture announced, “with continuous monitoring and verification of the most vulnerable areas by all the institutional bodies responsible for intervening, according to the own skills, if necessary”.

“I thank the Prefect, with whom we are constantly in contact, for the sensitivity shown in convening this summit”, the comment of Gigi Manzoni, mayor of Pozzuoli“We are working, all together, to tackle the phenomenon and verify any critical issues, but above all to demonstrate that we are there, and we are doing everything possible to guarantee the safety of the territory. We have always had to deal with bradyseism, and today we have the tools to do it safely.”
