The investigations into the case of Patrizia Nettis, the journalist from Gioia del Colle found lifeless in her apartment in Fasano on 29 June. The mother continues to ask for the “truth”: “We continue to ask for an autopsy on Patrizia, perhaps her body can continue to speak.”

Patrizia Nettis

“Not knowing anything and waiting for the investigations to be concluded makes us feel very bad. We continue to ask for an autopsy on Patrizia’s body, perhaps her body can continue to speak”: speaking is Rosanna Angelillo, Patrizia Nettis’ mother, the journalist originally from Gioia del Colle (Bari) found lifeless in her apartment in Fasano (Brindisi) on June 29th.

That night Nettis was found hanged with a sheet in her apartment near City Hall, where she had been hired a few weeks earlier. But the family does not give up on the suicide trail. “There is doubt that she might not have killed herself”, the mother still says today in front of the cameras Fourth Degree. “They didn’t seize the house, they didn’t take the sheet and they even tried to convince us that our daughter had also drunk varichina or something similar to give herself a boost – she says. And you don’t do a toxicology test? This leaves us very, very perplexed. In order to accept my daughter’s death we need a truth and we still cannot accept the mourning. It’s as if my daughter has been dying every 29th of every month for almost 10 months.”

Partrizia Nettis

Patrizia Nettis’ mother also reiterated in front of the cameras that from the day of her daughter’s death they would have tried to “convince” her of suicide. An attitude that, precisely together with the failure to exhum the body and perform an autopsy on the bodyimmediately left the family perplexed.

Death of Regeni, the former Italian ambassador to Cairo: “In the morgue I saw signs of torture on his body”

In the investigation into the death of Patrizia Nettis there is a person, an entrepreneur, who is under investigation for stalking and incitement to suicide and there is a second man, a politician, who would have had a relationship with the woman but who to date he is not under investigation. According to what emerged, that night the two men exchanged each other over 400 messages in which they discredited the journalist and announced retaliation: “This time she won’t get away with it”, one of the messages in the chat.

For that night there might even be a superwitness, which perhaps could direct the investigations towards a different path from suicide: it concerns a woman who noticed one of the two men, the politician, under her house, on the evening of the “confrontation”. Recently the General Prosecutor’s Office of Lecce did not accept the request of Nettis’ family to have the Brindisi Prosecutor’s Office investigate the journalist’s death.
