Two men were reported free by the Carabinieri of the Cesenatico company, because they were held responsible for the crimes of interruption of public service, causing alarm, simulation of crime and aiding and abetting. It all started with an intervention carried out by the Carabinieri on 11 April in Viale Mazzini, at the request of 118, who intervened following the collision of a pedestrian. This is a 52-year-old man, who declared that while he was crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing, he had been hit by a car which then drove away without giving him help. There was a 32-year-old man on site, the only witness to the accident, who confirmed the version. The 52-year-old was transported to Bufalini where, after initial treatment, he was discharged with a ten-day prognosis for his injuries. The police analyzed the images of a video surveillance system, ascertaining that the 52-year-old, immediately after the passing of a car, had voluntarily laid down on the pedestrian crossing thinking not to be seen. In the meantime, the 32-year-old witness, who actually turned out to be the accomplice, had thrown some food on the ground in order to make what the 52-year-old said more credible. In essence, the two had simulated the accident in order to request compensation for the damage from the guarantee fund for road victims.
