While waiting for the HBO Max series on Harry Potter, another production of enormous proportions involved more than 100 actors: what is it?
It was the 1997 when the first book of a saga destined to become a real cult was published for the first time, that of Harry Potter. Written by the Scottish author JK Rowling, the 7 books have inspired 8 hugely successful films, plays, theme parks, restaurants, events and locations around the world. Furthermore, almost 30 years later, Harry Potter continues to be a hugely successful franchise that fans (especially those of the Millennial generation) really don’t want to say goodbye to.
For these reasons the news of a Harry Potter series produced by HBO Max fueled the fire of passion even more. The American company, in fact, will work on a production of biblical proportions, dedicating a season to each book in the series over at least 7 years. To date, however, we still know little about the series and many continue to ask themselves questions about what the cast and what the final product will look like.
Audible hires 100 actors for a huge Harry Potter project
In the meantime, another production involved dozens of actors in a project that has to do with the Harry Potter saga. It’s about a audiobook series made in collaboration with Audibleinvolving approx 100 actors. “Together with Pottermore Publishing and more than 100 actors we will present an incredible new soundscape for the Wizarding World, with performances that we hope will encourage imagination of listeners and redefine these essential characters for the next generations“, commented the CEO of Audible.
Pottermore Publishing is also enthusiastic about the project, to say the least, especially because a saga like the one dedicated to the English wizard lends itself perfectly to the immersive experience offered by audiobooks. “We are sure that this new, immersive sound experience will not only open a new dimension for fans, but also introduce a new generation of listeners to the Wizarding World” commented Neil Blair, president of Pottermore Publishing.

It is certainly not the first time that the Harry Potter books have been transposed into audiobook form. Yet this time the aim is to offer readers, or rather listeners, an immersive experience. Designed precisely to stimulate the imagination and make us feel as if we were within the walls of Hogwarts castle.
