Official brand change at ASD Romano Scotti 1959 which prepares the 18th circuit of the organizational palmares: the Giro delle Regioni Cyclocross.
After having given a new impulse and shaped the modern Italian cyclocross, we start again with the 18th circuit in the regions of Italy, for the ASD Romano Scotti. A first part of the mission is accomplished and a second is upon us, the moment is more propitious than ever to consecrate a simply revolutionary idea in a closed and perfect form.
To unite the most beautiful and deep-rooted realities of Italian cyclocross in a single thematic, logistical and organizational thread, but also to contribute to the creation of new ones in “unusual” territories for this fascinating winter discipline. It is precisely from the territories, from the picturesque provinces of the Boot, that the new creation of the ASD Romano Scotti is shaped: it will be the Tour of the Cyclocross Regions to bring together all the winter activities of the Scotti family.
From next autumn and winter 2024/2025 the national and international races of the ASD Romano Scotti and its precious territorial partners will be under the blue and tricolor cloak of the GRC, the new acronym that will accompany a large part of the Italian cyclocross season… and beyond.
«Next winter will bring with it great challenges for ASD Romano Scotti – announces president Fausto Scotti – we will have the honor of organizing the Italian youth championships in Follonica, Tuscany, combined with an international race under the aegis of the FCI and UCI. We change brands, looking to the future, to new challenges with broader horizons, but we do not change our spirit and, above all, our great team. I sincerely thank the Stage Committees, who have fully understood and embraced our new proposal, continuing to follow us as a whole, with the same unchanged challenging and proactive attitude of recent years. We have understood, in these past seasons, that the regions of Italy deserve to be honored and valued, they are the cradles of passion, of our nurseries and of future champions. So what a Tour of Cyclocross Regions it is!
We will discover names of boys and girls thrown from Italian meadows and they will become future champions. We will continue to have the community, a “family” that colors autumn Sundays. And this will always be the objective. Now, strengthened by this consolidated base, the ASD Romano Scotti is ready for a new turn of the wheel towards other adventures, with a format that over time will reveal itself to be rich in experimentation, younger, leaner and scalable to the challenges of the future.
Marche, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Piedmont and Puglia will be the protagonists of the six stages of the Giro delle Regioni Cyclocross, in its first “senior” edition, to which Tuscany, theater of the tricolor event, also valid as a Memorial dedicated to the the unforgettable founder Romano Scotti. Two stages of an international nature (class C2) to which also add the Memorial Romano Scotti combined with the Italian youth championship, also of UCI rank. We will start from a super classic place for recent cyclocross, Corridonia in the Marche, and will end on the picturesque shores of the Ionian Sea in Gallipoli, in Puglia, after passing through the Rivellino Park in Osoppo, the mountainous Cantoira, the revelation San Colombano Certenoli and from the rediscovered Sappada, between the Dolomites and the Carnic Alps, returned to the ASD Romano Scotti family.
