Moments of fear in Villagrazia di Carini due to a fire that broke out in a building during the night. The flames spread within a few minutes to a three-storey building in Via Cristoforo Colombo. The structure is uninhabited, but an area used to store wooden fruit crates has been destroyed.
Their presence inevitably fueled the fire, which was put out by several fire brigade teams who arrived on site. The residents of the area raised the alarm, seeing that a large cloud of black smoke invaded the road. The area was closed to traffic to allow the firefighters to intervene safely, and the police also arrived at the site of the fire. Investigations are underway to establish what caused the flames.
A few evenings ago another fire made it necessary to intervene by the teams of the provincial command of Palermo in via Galletti. In this case the fire was caused by the short circuit of some cables connected to a public lighting pole. An event that allowed the police to discover not only the theft of electricity, but also the presence of a drug greenhouse. The agents in fact found around five hundred plants inside the structure where there were heat pumps, fertilizers, a water system and everything necessary to grow the shrubs. Investigations are underway to trace the “cultivators” of the plantation.
