FROSINONE – The ceremony for awarding the gold medal for civil merit to the province of Frosinone began at 11.30, a ceremony attended by the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi. The security measures were imposing, the subject of continuous coordination meetings between the Police Headquarters and the Prefecture in the previous days.
“It is a historic day for the province – said the president of the Province Luca Di Stefano – The bombings and suffering are still deep scars today. The wounds of the past have shaped the present. And when all hope seemed to be lost we found a way to resist. This award is a tribute to the victims and a reminder of the lessons of the past. Thank you Minister, long live Italy, long live the province of Frosinone”.
The prefect Ernesto Liguori, in his speech, underlined the need not to forget: “It is important not to disperse the memory. A memory that is still alive and emerges in the feelings of the population. Allow me to share the pride in the contribution that comes to this area.”
