On May 4th and 5th it will be held in Policoro (in the Council Room) a study meeting dedicated to Rocco Scotellaro.
The meeting is divided into three sessions, how many there are the traits that historically define Scotellaro’s figure: the poet, the researcher, the politician.
The associations promoting the meeting – all attentive to the history and present of the Lucanian Ionian coast, some physically settled and active here – invite you to intervene (also with contributions of analysis and reflection) local administrators and socio-cultural and environmental associations in the region.
The commitment and hope of those who organized this conference, in fact, are aimed at promoting a lasting public debate which – fueled by scientific knowledge and civil commitment – questions on the local development processes and policies of the Ionian area and Basilicata, on their social and environmental compatibility, on the use of resources.
The human, poetic and political story of Rocco Scotellaro and the historical time in which it takes place (starting from the agrarian reform laws) constitute – in the opinion of the organizers – a precious, irreplaceable starting point.
