NAPLES – The Naples men’s water polo team achieved their fourth victory of the season in the Serie C championship. Three important points for survival which allow the Flegrean team to break away from their direct opponents. A challenge against a direct competitor for staying in Serie C where the boys led by Fabrizio Rossi showed character and determination. Highlights among the white and blue ranks were Rigo with four goals and the veteran Fabrizio Buonocore who in defense did all the pots and pans on his own. Napoli Nuoto got off to a strong start thanks to Pellone’s goal which opened the ball with Marzano and Costabile allowing the Flegrei team to close the first quarter 3-1. In the second set Napoli Nuoto had a fluid circulation of the ball with the expert Buonocore who scored a superb goal at the start of the quarter. At the halfway point the match now seems to be going downhill for the biancazzurri (8-4). In the third set the Flegrean team always manages to keep their opponents at a safe distance thanks to the always attentive defense which concedes very little and thus manages the match. In the last quarter Napoli Nuoto takes off thanks to Rigo’s brace which closes the match at 13-8. On Saturday at 1.30 pm the Phlegraeans will go to visit Sport Project in Bari, another direct competitor for salvation.

We were very careful in defense and also good in the scoring phase, taking advantage of much of the numerical superiority we had at our disposal. Now in the away match in Puglia on Saturday there is a need for continuity in the results.”
