“Years ago, the organization of May Day at the Diaz gardens included a call for traders who wanted to join. Bars, restaurants, hamburger shops, pizzerias. Now the issue is delegated, in addition to the pro loco of Macerata and Piediripa, to an association created at the time. Nobody among the bartenders and restaurateurs knew anything, we received no certified email or emails or notices of any kind”. Ezio Taccari, bartender in via Garibaldi, complains about the fact that the Municipality did not involve those who over the years, before the stop dictated by the Covid emergency, had joined the May Day celebrations.
In recent days, in fact, the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Macerata presented the initiative which will be held next Wednesday in the gardens, on the occasion of Labor Day. From 10am to midnight there will be inflatables, music and food stands, with the collaboration of the “Kloro philla” association. The owner of the bar in via Garibaldi adds: “Over the years we had about fifteen stands with traders, not only from the historic centre. Now the party was organized keeping us in the dark, things were made known after the games were over. When I asked for explanations, they were not given to me. Another issue that I would like to highlight – says Taccari – is the one regarding the duration of the European aperitifs where, for one day less, the Municipality asks for 50 euros more we have been subjected to checks by Asur. I know that a trader who is in dispute with the administration has been sent an inspection: this is how the spite of those in power works. This administration has not got one right, and the colour politics has nothing to do with it.” With respect to the May Day at the Diaz gardens, Taccari comments: “The Municipality has the patronage, not the organization like years ago, when we paid 300 euros each to participate. They would still have earned it, and there were fifteen of us participating”.
