At the municipal social center of Gioiosa a meeting to explore the topic of Alzheimer’s

A meeting to talk about Alzheimer’s disease: one of the darkest and most socially disabling pathologies of our time. Guests include Dr. Vittoria Varda, psychologist, and Dr. Rocco Vasile, surgeon, who explored the topic together with Dr. Giulio Papandrea, doctor and councilor responsible for social policies of the Municipality. The latter, a supporter of the creation of the social center and its tireless animator, declared “I am happy that the idea of ​​this meeting was welcomed with enthusiasm by the members of the center and this afternoon’s participation is proof of this. Talking together and discussing is essential to share practices and remove the fear that the pathology brings with it. The experience of the Alzheimer’s Café presented by Dr. Vittoria Varda, active in our territorial area in the municipality of Caulonia and Siderno, is a very useful tool to support patients and caregivers who, often, are those who experience the disease alongside and together with their loved ones. I want to thank Dr. Varda and Dr. Vasile who accepted our invitation and obviously the members of our social center”.
