Death of Capezzuti, the trial has begun in the Court of Assizes. The two defendants were also in the courtroom

The trial for the death of Marzia Capezzuti, the Milanese girl killed in Pontecagnano Faiano in March two years ago, began yesterday.

In the dock, the victim’s sister-in-law and her partner, Maria Barbara Vacchiano and Damiano Noschese accused of carrying out torture and abuse of all kinds which led to the girl’s death. The first hearing was held yesterday in the Court of Assizes in Salerno.

The two accused, present in the courtroom and accompanied by their trusted lawyers, maintained an icy silence the entire time. There were no representatives of the civil parties in the courtroom, whose presence was opposed by the couple’s defenders. However, the victim’s family members were present. In the long list of civil parties, in addition to the family, also include the municipal administration of Pontecagnano, the Polis Foundation and the associations Spazio Donna and Al posto tuo.

The entire hearing was instead filmed, with the authorization of the investigators, by the programs “Un giorno in Pretura” and “Storie italiane”. The girl disappeared in March 2022 and her body was found on October 25 of the same year in an abandoned farmhouse in Montecorvino Pugliano. Next hearing in June
