Electric cars, water bottles and charging stations: Gas Sales “in the field” for sustainability

In its path of environmental sustainability, Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza continues with commitment to the E-CO2 Free Energy project also for the 2022-2023 season. The project, active both in the first team and in the youth sector, started in 2018 and led the company to offset all CO2 emissions associated with the teams’ activities in 2019. From 2023 the project will benefit from the technical support of Zero CO2a sustainability and energy consultancy company founded by Legambiente and Kyoto Club. Focused on reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the company has adopted effective measures such as the use of electric cars, installation of electric charging stations and the introduction of stainless steel water bottles refillable from the Bluebox dispensers located inside the arena. These actions are complemented by significant investments in PalabancaSport for the use of energy from renewable sources and the use of gas whose combustion phase has been compensated thanks to the Main Sponsor Gas Sales Energia, including the installation of new high-tech lighting fixtures LEDs and efficient heat pumps. Specifically, Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza offset 508 tCO2 eq by purchasing corresponding carbon credits, thus contributing to the support of two projects that produce hydroelectric energy in India. These initiatives strengthen society’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The commitment to sustainability also extends to the involvement of the PalabancaSport public, with communication actions and the installation of tools to promote a more environmentally friendly approach.
