The Institute’s Debate Team Einstein Scientific High School of Palermo managed to win the final of the GenerazioneEU2024 tournament at the Bocconi University in Milan.
The team, composed of Chloé Greco, Mattia Parisi, Francesco Centorbi, Vincenzo Maniscalco and Giuseppe Castiglia, led by Prof. Barbara Zappalà, debated the motion “This Assembly believes that energy and climate change policies should be decided at EU level ” against the Liceo Classico team Q. Orazio Flacco of Potenza.
The award ceremony for the Palermo team took place in the presence of the Rector of the Luigi Bocconi University, the Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Milan and the Head of the European Parliament Office in Italy. Debate is a very widespread practice in Italian schools as it accustoms children to developing critical thinking, honing expressive skills and public speaking.
That of the Einstein High School team was a journey that began in November 2023, which saw 57 teams from all over Italy participate, with exciting challenges on topics that are always very current. A great satisfaction for the young debaters from Palermo, but also for the entire Palermo Institute.
