Famakan Traore, a 25-year-old originally from Mali, was already known to the police. He was the protagonist of the crazy gesture at the petrol station in Piazza Caduti sul Lavoro yesterday morning when he set fire to the diesel fuel he had spilled on the ground a few moments earlier.

The 25-year-old, of no fixed abode, was also arrested last Sunday, stopped by the police at the Via Alberoni station, on charges of robbery against a fellow countryman, whose wallet he had tried to steal. After the validation hearing, he was free again.

He was also arrested in February 2023, in the station area, for kicking cars and then resisting and attacking police officers and local police who intervened on the scene.

The man, arrested on the spot by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Operations Unit of Ravenna, was taken first to the barracks and then to prison, where he will await the validation hearing, accused of arson. He was already the recipient of a “dismissal”, therefore among the accusations formulated by the prosecutor Lucrezia Ciriello, there will also be the violation of the order issued by the police commissioner.
